The client is a provider of financial platforms for depository accounts, tax collections and pension contributions. It is the largest provider in this area, and has successfully built and operated such platforms for over six years.

Problem

The client needed an independent assessment of its systems in order to improve its overall efficiency as well as ensure that the systems are geared towards meeting the service levels demanded by its stakeholders.

Solution

Architecture of two systems covering about ten applications have been assessed. The assessment has been conducted with respect to architecture, design and engineering practices. Metrics analysis has been performed on the source code to determine design metrics. Code review has been conducted to determine state of development practices. A set of recommendations to address the issues uncovered have been proposed. Recommendations include changes to project management, release management practices.
